The Fiat 500 is an insanely popular car for several reasons. A stylish and compact city car, it's a top seller. But even this cutesy city car can be ruined by a tired windscreen wiper blade scraping away.
Windscreen wipers are serviceable parts and will wear down over time. The average lifespan of a blade is one year but it can be much less if your windscreen is gritty. Trying to remove ice or leaving your car in the sun can damage your blades more quickly. You'll know when they need replacing because they will either make a harrowing screeching noise or won't clear your windscreen properly. If you want to find out more about windscreen wipers, we have a windscreen wipers guide, here.
And while you can pay a garage to change them for you, they're really easy to do yourself for a fraction of the cost. And once you've changed your wipers, why not use the money you've saved giving it a good polish or upgrading your car's scent with a cool air freshener?
How to find the correct blades for your car:

The good news is, all Fiat 500s produced from 2007 onwards use the same sized windscreen wipers. To find the correct sized windscreen wiper blades, you can use Amazon Garage or the Halfords registration checker. These services will ensure you're only shown parts that will fit your car.

How to change the wiper blades on a Fiat 500:
- Lift your car's windscreen wipers up away from the windscreen.
- There is a small plastic button on the wiper arm that when pressed, will allow you to slide the wiper blade off. Do this and cover the arm with some kitchen roll to stop it from damaging your window if you accidentally knock it down.
- Slide the new blade on and push your wiper back onto the windscreen.
The process is the same for the rear window, too.
What else do I need to know?
You can prolong the life of your windscreen wiper blades by using a rag and some soapy warm water. Clean the blade with the water until the rag comes away with no grime on it. Then, wipe the blades with another rag to remove any residue.
There is a new all-electric Fiat 500 launching this year and it looks just as stylish as the current one. However, we don't yet know if it uses the same windscreen wiper blades as the current model.
